Atlassian stops supporting Data Center on March 28, 2029. A lot of companies running Jira and Confluence on their own servers rely on Marketplace apps that were never rebuilt for cloud, and Atlassian publishes lists of the ones that won’t be. When those companies move, those features just disappear.
Cloudbridge is a set of small cloud apps that fill those holes.
The apps
- Polyglot Fields (Jira, JSM): custom-field options shown in each person’s language, including on the customer portal.
- Limits Doctor (Jira): shows how close each space is to cloud’s data limits and suggests what to clean up.
- Beacon Banners (Confluence): banners targeted to groups or spaces, stacked by priority.
- Stampwell (Confluence): PDF exports and attachment downloads watermarked with who exported them, plus an export log. Confluence only has watermarks on its top plan.
How it works
- I scanned the Marketplace for Data Center apps with no cloud version, ranked the gaps, and picked the ones that are small enough to build well and don’t need to send data anywhere.
- Each app is built on Forge, Atlassian’s own platform, with no external calls. Customer data stays in Atlassian.
- The logic lives in plain modules with unit tests that run without Atlassian. Each app is also tested by hand on a live site, as an admin and as a regular user.
Where it is
The apps run on a test site. Marketplace listings are next.
