How this site is made

Notes on the mark, the colours, the type and the stack, for anyone who likes to look under the hood.

The Intermundia Labs mark.

The mark

Fifteen circles in five rows, on a black field inside an ochre triangle. The rows run from navy at the apex, through teal and ochre, to ember and red at the base. A lattice ties every circle to its neighbours. The bottom centre circle carries a small eye.

On the home page, the mark is rebuilt as live vector artwork. Rings spread out from the apex and from the eye, and where they cross they make a moiré. That's the “between worlds” in Intermundia. A brighter copy of the lattice follows the pointer, and a pulse runs down the rows.

Palette

Sampled from the logo file

The site is dark by default, like the mark. On black, the brand colours are lifted slightly for text and fine lines so they stay readable. The light theme uses them as they are. The colours of every drawing follow the same roles: teal for flow, ember for emphasis, red for a rejection, ochre for notes.

  • Astro, built to static files and served from GitHub Pages. No server, no database.
  • Drawings. Every project illustration is generated at build time from a small model of what the project does. It's seeded, so it comes out the same on every build.
  • Live pulse. Run history comes from each project's build logs, fetched with a read-only token when the site is built. Only dates and pass or fail make it onto the page.
  • Link previews are rendered at build time too, one per page, with satori and resvg.
  • Motion is CSS: page transitions, scroll reveals, the pulses. All of it turns off if your system asks for reduced motion.
  • Privacy. No analytics, no cookies and no third-party requests.
